Suffering from Heyfever?

Are you suffering from Heyfever ?

Allergic Rhinitis (the medical term for heyfever) is a common condition in the UK (figures suggest that around 20% of people in the UK actually suffer from it).
It is mainly caused by an allergy to Pollens and airbourne materials, such as grass/hay pollens.

The Reactions vary greatly from person to person, due to which pollens or spores you have an allergy against. This means that many people can get Heyfever at different times of the Summer and Autumn.
Ofcourse, this means that the severity of the reaction can also be different from person to person.

Symptons of Heyfever can include a runny nose, repeating sneezing attacks and watery eyes, which can be a miserable experience for heyfever sufferers.

Luckily There are a variety of treatments available, including antihistamines, nasal sprays and Eye Drops to help releive the symptoms of heyfever.

During the Heyfever Seasons You Can Normally find out the Pollen Count Level during the weather report on UK TV stations, or by Visiting the BBC Pollen Index. This should give you an indication as to how bad the pollen index is in your area.
Remember the weather has a great influence on the pollen index (which is actually the number of pollen grains found in each cubic metre of air).

Other things you can do to help are:
Protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses
Avoid Going out (if poss) when the pollen index is high
If your in the car keep the windows closed as much as possible
Have a bath/shower before going to bed to wash off any pollen that may be on you.
